How We Work
The Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch carries out the mission of the CBA in British Columbia and supports more than 8000 members in British Columbia. We connect our members to the people, knowledge, and skills they need to successfully practice law. We do this through community building and support, learning and development, and advocacy and professional initiatives within the legal profession.
We are governed by our branch bylaws and policies along with the national bylaws of the CBA. Led by our President, our Board of Directors is made up of 11 members responsible for advancing the work of CBABC. They ensure the necessary resources for branch operations and oversee the outcomes of our advocacy, programs and activities.
Provincial Council provides a forum for CBABC leaders to learn, inform and promote our work. Provincial Council serves as an advisory group to the Board of Directors.
Our Chief Executive Officer leads CBABC operations and manages our team so we can support and serve our members.
